Welcome to St. Catherine Academy!

From here, you’ll change the world.

If there’s one thing our STARS love, it’s sharing the sisterhood. As our students will readily attest, SCA is a place where young women are free to be themselves, to grow, to thrive, and to put down deep roots that prepare them for a brilliant future. But St. Catherine’s isn’t just a place; it’s a community. We hope you can take a moment to visit us as we want you to be able to experience all that makes our Siena STARS shine so brightly.

Through our admissions process, you will learn more about a St. Catherine education and how we shape young women to be leaders lit from within!

Why All Girls?

For many families, they are making a choice between a girls’ school and one or more coed schools. At SCA, we encourage families to ask, “What does an all-girls school do best?” We’re confident they will discover the answer to be, “A lot.”

To help remind families how an all girls’ school will engage, challenge, inspire, and prepare their daughter, here’s a list of the top ten reasons to attend an all-girls school supported by research:

10. INSPIRATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Girls’ schools champion the education needs of girls.

9. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Girls’ schools create a culture of achievement.

8. BUILDS SELF-CONFIDENCE
At girls’ schools, a girl occupies every role.

7. DEVELOPS LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Girls’ schools empower students to become bold leaders.

6. SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & MATH (STEM)
Girls’ schools champion the educational needs of girls as a group underrepresented in STEM majors and careers.

5. DEDICATED TO HOW GIRLS LEARN
Girls’ schools capitalize on girls’ unique learning styles.

4. HIGHER ASPIRATIONS
Girls’ school students strive for greatness.

3. EXCELLENT MENTORING
Girls’ school students are mentored by a community of peers, teachers, and school administrators.

2. PREPARES GIRLS FOR THE REAL WORLD
Girls’ schools engage students in activities that prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

1. ALLOWS GIRLS TO BE THEMSELVES

Academic Highlights

Our curriculum is college-preparatory and aligned to rigorous standards above and beyond the Common Core. Our Theology Program aligns to the standards of the United States Council of Catholic Bishops. Within each curricular area, teachers work to incorporate the art of rhetoric, critical thinking, and real-world application. Students are taught using lecture, Socratic Method, project-based learning, and technology.

New for 2023-24 | Collegiate Block Schedule

St. Catherine of Siena Academy will follow a collegiate block schedule for the 2023-24 school year. Students will be enrolled in four 80-minute classes each day Semester I, followed by four 80-minute classes Semester II. This provides students the opportunity to complete eight (8) credit hours each academic year. At SCA all students are required to complete academic credits and service hours to graduate.

It's about her.

Wellness and Support

Wellness Center

Opening April 2023, the Wellness Center, a space just for her, her body, her mind, her wellness.  SCA created a space to fully support your daughter’s wellness of mind and body. Designed by women for women, our Wellness Center offers equipment and training that keeps in mind the important differences of the female body. Here, she’ll be motivated and learn confidence as well as fitness without intimidation. Our female trainer will be on-hand for questions.

Academic Support

Saint Catherine of Siena Academy is committed to providing a successful college preparatory education to all students. Students who require additional support through 504 or non-public service plans are provided with the same opportunities to achieve their full academic potential as their peers. The learning specialist and counselors work closely with these students and other students who may need academic interventions or assistance with time management, organization, study skills, test-taking, and note-taking strategies. Additionally, students are provided with opportunities to strengthen their self-advocacy skills and to become empowered so that they can pursue and achieve their goals and objectives with confidence.

Financial Assistance

Assistance and Grants

It is understood and appreciated the financial commitment and sacrifice families undertake in deciding to send their children to a Catholic school. And although paying for education is first and foremost the responsibility of the family, St. Catherine Academy and the Archdiocese of Detroit devote significant funds each year to financial aid programs that help assist families.

We encourage all families to apply for financial assistance. Students may be eligible for a grant each of their four years at St. Catherine Academy; however, families must apply each year. Awards are not automatically renewed.

Our tuition assistance program is designed to bridge the gap between what a family can afford and what it costs to attend St. Catherine Academy.

“SCA proves you can educate young women to both get into Heaven and Harvard!”

SCA Parent

You receive a spiritual hug when you walk through the door at St. Catherine of Siena Academy. Christ is at the center and He is opening up His arms saying “these are your friends, this is your family.” – Erika, SCA Alumnae

Erika

“[SCA] builds upon your faith and strengthen you academically throughout the four years in high school so that you are more than ready when you move on to college.”

Zina

“Recently attended an event at this school – very beautiful!”

Kenneth

“This place (SCA) is about the best Catholic high school you can go to, in my opinion. The whole school isn’t just a school, but a family where everybody knows everybody. It’s a small enough school for that to be possible-and it’s really awesome! What makes SCA different is the people that make up the SCA family. There are no bullies and no one is mean to you. Everybody looks out for you and your teachers become friends….This place is really close to my heart.”

Alumna, Class of '12

“SCA is authentically and unapologetically Catholic. It’s excellence in academics and athletics is rooted in its mission to pass on the beauty of the Catholic faith in a way that is relevant to the modern world. The result is a constant focus on the character and virtue of its students, challenging them to be the best version of themselves not just academically, but spiritually as well.”

SCA Parent

“Even if there were 10 stars, I would still put 11!”

Katherine

“[Teachers] care about the success of each student. They come early to help students and stay after school if necessary. They are a super dedicated faculty.”

SCA Parent

“An excellent community for families that want to stay involved!”

Leighanne

“I have been very impressed with the teachers at this school. They both challenge the girls academically and show true concern for them on a personal level as well.”
