Leadership

We believe in the dignity of every young woman and honor the gifts God has given by providing opportunities for her to use those gifts, personally or civically.

Leadership is the ability to give of oneself and better the world from a desire to serve as Christian disciples.  At St. Catherine’s we cultivate this desire by giving each student a voice and an opportunity to use their gifts. To do so, we encourage every young woman to listen to the voice within as it reveals the stirrings of her own heart so she can take a leap of faith and use her gifts to grow and respond to the world around her.

Student clubs and activities are created by students who want to enrich themselves and mature in the use of their gifts.  We nurture this growth by helping students find new ways to share of themselves and their talents, whether it is of the mind, the heart or the body.  God gives us many gifts, and He meant for us to share them! For this reason, we have a variety of extra-curricular activities and avenues for students to share of themselves.

Similarly, we structure service opportunities and experiential learning so students can further develop their gifts by giving of themselves to the broader community.

“This high school experience is like none other you can get anywhere. There is joy and comradery and the girls are happy and excel. They are being supported and encouraged by staff. You can watch a girl come in who had a bad experience elsewhere, bloom here and become a different girl in a short time. Can’t say enough good about it. Thank God the founders had this vision and followed through with it. Well needed and we are very thankful!”

“[SCA] builds upon your faith and strengthen you academically throughout the four years in high school so that you are more than ready when you move on to college.”

“An excellent community for families that want to stay involved! Everyone has a different opinion and all students, staff, and faculty are respectful of it. I have never been in an environment that was so inviting and welcoming. It is easy to find a home in this school because the staff genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. It really is a beautiful place and a great experience. I am very lucky to have gone through high school there.”

“This place (SCA) is about the best Catholic high school you can go to, in my opinion. The whole school isn’t just a school, but a family where everybody knows everybody. It’s a small enough school for that to be possible-and it’s really awesome! What makes SCA different is the people that make up the SCA family. There are no bullies and no one is mean to you. Everybody looks out for you and your teachers become friends….This place is really close to my heart.”

“Karen Ervin is a remarkable principal! She is a good administrator, but even more importantly, she is an excellent role model for the students. She is strong, confident, and a woman of tremendous virtue. She is unafraid and doing everything in her power to raise strong, Catholic women who will go out and ‘set the world ablaze’!”

“Even if there were 10 stars, I would still put 11!”

“[Teachers] care about the success of each student. They come early to help students and stay after school if necessary. They are a super dedicated faculty.”
