Oct 3, 2021 Canton Police 2nd annual Police and Fire softball game with the Miracle League of Plymouth

The Canton Police is having a 2nd annual Police and Fire softball game with the Miracle League of Plymouth. The Miracle League supports children with special needs in their quest to play baseball.

The game is scheduled for Sunday, October 3, 2021 (rain out date is October 10)  at 1:00 PM at the Miracle League of Plymouth ball park located at 357 Theodore St, Plymouth MI.

The event is this Sunday, and they’re short both police and fire volunteers. Therefore, the Canton Police asked that I pass along to SCA to see if any of the students would be interested in volunteering for service hours. At the event, volunteers are paired with children to play ball. Service hours can be signed by Mr. Wilsher, Deputy Chief, or with the Miracle League. The details are below. If students are interested, please let me know. I would also need to know their t-shirt size.

This is a fun event, a great cause, and also a positive experience for the SCA students.

If you need more information, or would like to speak directly with Craig, or with the Canton Community Resource Officer, Patty Esselink, please let me know.

Fall 2021, Maybury Farm

Please see the information below regarding volunteer opportunities at Maybury Farm. Please contact Diana Wallace directly (contact info below) if you are interested in volunteering.

Maybury Farm is reaching out to you to see if you have students who need to obtain volunteer hours beginning this fall.  In the past we have had students from the South Lyon area volunteering here at the farm helping the team on fundraising events to help feed and care for all the animals.

We have Corn Maze starting 9/10-10/24 on Friday from 4:45pm-9:00pm, Saturday from 9:45am-9:00pm and Sunday from 9:45am-7:00pm. Along with our annual Great Fall Festival which is on 10/9 and 10/10 from 9:45-5:00.

We need volunteers for Corn Maze starting in just under a month.  The hours are split into 2 shifts for AM &  PM of 4-5 hours each.  For Corn Maze we have the following positions available for each shift:

  •    General Store Concessions (2 people needed)
  •    Farm – Wagon loading, wristband checking, etc. (1 person needed)
  •    In the Corn Maze  (2 people needed)

For the Great Fall Festival we need more individuals but we can get this information to you in the beginning of September. or now if you would like it.  If you can let us know if your students can volunteer here at the farm that would be great.  We can get you a more detailed sign in sheet for each shift, each week-end to help with the scheduling of volunteers.

Please let us know if you can help or anything you need from us.  Thank you for considering helping the Northville Community Foundation/Maybury Farm.

Respectfully,

DIANA WALLACE

Aug 27-29 2021, Ave Maria Radio 25th Anniversary

In late July, I sent out information on a service opportunity through Ave Maria Radio (see below). They are still in need of volunteers for the dinner on Friday from 6:30pm-9:30pm. If you are interested in earning 5 service hours (travel time is included), please respond to me by 3:00pm on Wednesday. Thank you.

Ave Maria Radio is celebrating our 25th Anniversary with a 3-day Celebration, August 27th-29th in Ann Arbor at Domino’s Farms.

We need volunteers for all 3 events (Friday: Dinner,  Saturday: Family Festival, Sunday: Big Tent Revival) and there are a wide variety of activities to choose from.

This is a unique opportunity to earn Service Hours at the beginning of the school year while helping out our local Catholic Radio Station and the community.  There is a sign-up genius for each individual event.  No limit to the number of hours you can volunteer.  Thank you for your service to Ave Maria Radio!

“Another thing I enjoyed about the school was the athletics. I played four different sports at this school and I had the same experience with all of them. The coaches really cared about me, not just how well I was performing and I was treated respectfully on and off the court. Further more, I felt that I was really being pushed physically and mentally during practice which I value in any activity.”

Alumna

“Recently attended an event at this school – very beautiful!”

Kenneth

“[SCA] builds upon your faith and strengthen you academically throughout the four years in high school so that you are more than ready when you move on to college.”

Zina

Alumna

“Even if there were 10 stars, I would still put 11!”

Katherine

“My first day of freshman year was something I never expected, Saint Catherine just felt like home. The atmosphere, staff, and the student body were all so amazing. I knew from the second I came to the school that it was where I was meant to be. I am currently a senior and my experience so far has been one too remember I have grown mentally, physically, spiritually and my journey has been one to remember. I love SCA and all the girls I have met are truly going to be my sisters throughout my life, its an amazing school and is a place I will call home forever.”

Alumna, Class of '18

“I LOVE this school. The teachers are excellent. Because the students are so friendly, it’s easy to fit in and make friends even if you have had a tough time at other schools. There is virtually no bullying and it is a very friendly, positive environment. Highly recommended.”

Alumna, Class of '17

“Beautiful school!”

Rachel

“The school lives up to their mission statement by unlocking the feminine genius in the girls who go there and providing us with the opportunity to discover who we are meant to be.”

MaryKatherine

“As a graduate of this school, I can attest to not only the strong education I received from SCA but also the strong foundation I was given in which I could build my own faith upon. I felt fully prepared for the ‘real world’ both academically and spiritually.”
