The Dean of Students, Mr. Dan Bumpus, provides a list of service opportunities as they become available for our STARS. Below is a list of currently available volunteer opportunities. Mr. Bumpus communicates all opportunities via email to the student body.

Sept 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 2022 - Ascension Providence/Michigan State Fair

Our partners at Ascension Providence Novi are staffing a booth at the Michigan State Fair over Labor Day weekend. It is being held at Suburban Showcase on Friday-Monday. Shifts are 4 hours, and volunteers will receive some perks/bling and a wrist band to ride the rides unlimited after their shift (that day only) Volunteers must be at least 16, and sign up in advance. I’m including the link to the sign up genius, with all of the requirements and perks. It would really help if we could send a cohort of our students there—they do not need to be part of the internship program!!

If students have questions, they can ask Ms. Lucia by email! – lsmerage@saintcatherineacademy.org

“The community service, the focus on virtuous living, and the sisterhood really instills compassion and respect for all of humanity.”

SCA Parent

“A crazy amount of extra curricular options-basically if you are passionate about it [SCA] will find a way to help you bring it to fruition!”

Leighanne

“This high school builds the whole young woman intellectually, spiritually, and teaches the feminine genius approach to life. Amen!”

Chrissy

“An excellent community for families that want to stay involved! Everyone has a different opinion and all students, staff, and faculty are respectful of it. I have never been in an environment that was so inviting and welcoming. It is easy to find a home in this school because the staff genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. It really is a beautiful place and a great experience. I am very lucky to have gone through high school there.”

Alumna

“[Teachers] care about the success of each student. They come early to help students and stay after school if necessary. They are a super dedicated faculty.”

SCA Parent

“As a graduate of this school, I can attest to not only the strong education I received from SCA but also the strong foundation I was given in which I could build my own faith upon. I felt fully prepared for the ‘real world’ both academically and spiritually.”

MaryKatherine

“SCA proves you can educate young women to both get into Heaven and Harvard!”

SCA Parent

“This high school experience is like none other you can get anywhere. There is joy and comradery and the girls are happy and excel. They are being supported and encouraged by staff. You can watch a girl come in who had a bad experience elsewhere, bloom here and become a different girl in a short time. Can’t say enough good about it. Thank God the founders had this vision and followed through with it. Well needed and we are very thankful!”

SCA Parent

“This school has a very strong faith atmosphere! The school is fairly new, but is starting to build a name for itself both spiritually and academically. The faculty and staff rock!”

Student, Class of '19

“I LOVE this school. The teachers are excellent. Because the students are so friendly, it’s easy to fit in and make friends even if you have had a tough time at other schools. There is virtually no bullying and it is a very friendly, positive environment. Highly recommended.”

Alumna, Class of '17
