50th anniversary of Title IX with a focus on Women in Sports
St. Catherine Academy soccer players were invited to a press conference in Downtown Detroit, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX with a focus on Women in Sports. They had the opportunity to meet and take some photos with our Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson and chat with legendary Detroit broadcasting pioneer, journalist and author, Anne Doyle. The event included many guests who spoke on the future of girls and women in sports, and the task force created to continue pushing for more equality and opportunities for women in the future.
St. Catherine family featured in the photos include soccer student-athletes Alexis Kufta, Kendall Kufta and Joanna Namel, and soccer head coach Aaron Roy.
