Scholarships

The following academic scholarships are available to incoming freshmen and are not based on financial need. Candidates are awarded academic scholarships based on HSPT score. Academic scholarships are renewable each year based on current academic performance. No separate application is needed – the Scholarship Committee considers all accepted students.  Essay scholarships are awarded once for incoming freshman and are not renewable. Essays are due by the second Friday in January of your student's 8th grade year. Award letters are mailed to selected candidates with their St. Catherine Academy acceptance letters.

Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are automatically awarded based on HSPT composite score. No application needed.

Pope Saint John Paul II Academy Scholarship -$5,000

  • A score of 99 and above will receive a $5,000 scholarship
  • Student must maintain a 3.75 GPA to have the scholarship renewed on a yearly basis

St. Scholastica Scholarship -$3,000

  • 95 to 98 will receive a $3,000 scholarship
  • Student must maintain a 3.75 GPA to have the scholarship renewed on a yearly basis

St. Katharine Drexel Scholarship -$2,000

  • 90 to 94 will receive a $2,000 scholarship
  • Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA to have the scholarship renewed on a yearly basis

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship -$1000

  • 85 to 89 will receive a $1000 scholarship
  • Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA to have the scholarship renewed on a yearly basis

Academic Scholarship -$500

  • 80 to 84 will receive a $500 scholarship
  • Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA to have the scholarship renewed on a yearly basis

Missionary Heart Leadership Scholarship

Missionary Heart Leadership Scholarship – incoming freshmen only

This scholarship seeks to recognize and reward those students who demonstrate the qualities of responsibility, integrity and leadership in service to their school and community.  These are characteristics emulated by those with a missionary’s heart in utilizing their talents to serve others.  Candidates must provide information on previous leadership and service activities in school, parish or community service.

Scholarship award $1,000.00

Requirements:

All components of the scholarship application MUST be received in paper format (no email submissions). The scholarship application may be dropped off or mailed to:

All of the following must be included in the submission in order for it to be considered:

  • 3 Service Activities: Complete an activities verification form for each activity (at the bottom of this page)
  • 400-600 Word Essay:

Jesus spent his public life going from town to town ministering to the people.  By doing so, he taught his disciples (and us) how to be Christian leaders.  What do you believe it means to be a leader and how do you use the gifts God has given you to serve others?

St. Catherine of Siena Scholarship

St. Catherine of Siena Scholarship – incoming freshmen only

This scholarship seeks to recognize students of outstanding virtue and character. Like St. Catherine of Siena, this young woman should exemplify a strength of faith that inspires others and demonstrate a life of virtue.

Scholarship award $1,000.00

Requirements:

All components of the scholarship application MUST be received in paper format (no email submissions). The scholarship application may be dropped off or mailed to:

  • Recommenders rank candidates according to the virtues/traits using the St. Catherine Scholarship Recommender Form (at the bottom of this page)
  • 400-600 Word Essay:

Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?”  How would you answer Jesus if he asked you that question?  How do you live your life as one of his disciples?

Feminine Genius Scholarship

Feminine Genius Scholarship – incoming freshmen only

For this scholarship students explore what a faith-filled woman looks like in her daily life and the influence her love for the Lord, her family, and her community can have on the world around her.

Scholarship award $1,000.00

The following must be included in the submission in order for it to be considered:

  • Students write a 400-600 word essay reflecting on the prompt,

“The messages of contemporary culture often tell women that their value lies in how they look or what they accomplish. From a Christian perspective what is the source of a woman’s dignity and how does this influence her daily choices and affect the world around her.”

  • Include a minimum of 1 source in the essay
