Lenten Retreat Day: A Blessed Start to EPOCH Week
EPOCH Week at St. Catherine of Siena Academy began with a meaningful Lenten Retreat Day, giving our students the opportunity to reflect, pray, and grow in their faith. The day was thoughtfully designed and led by our faculty, who shared their time, talent, and faith to create a truly impactful experience for our students.
Students started the day with class breakfasts before diving into a series of mini sessions focused on deepening their understanding of Lent and their relationship with God. Each student selected several sessions, allowing them to explore different aspects of their faith in a personal and meaningful way.
The mini sessions offered a wide range of experiences: Paul’s Lenten Self-Defense helped students reflect on how to protect themselves spiritually and emotionally; Ali and Brittany’s Story of the Passion explored the events leading to Jesus' crucifixion, allowing students to reflect on the sacrifice and love at the heart of our faith; and Grace’s Creating a Cross Bracelet gave students a hands-on way to reflect on the meaning of the cross in their daily lives.
Students also had the chance to sit in quiet reflection during adoration, participate in reconciliation, and come together as a community for Mass. The combination of personal reflection and communal worship made for a powerful and balanced experience.
We are so grateful to our faculty for guiding our students through this retreat and providing a space for them to encounter Christ in a real and personal way. Their dedication and care created an environment where students could grow spiritually and support one another on their Lenten journey.
