National Honor Society Induction 2025

Congratulations to the newly inducted members of the St. Catherine of Siena Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society! On Thursday, March 13, the 16 NHS members of the Class of 2025 proudly welcomed 18 members of the Class of 2026 to the National Honor Society.

After a welcome and opening prayer by Ms. Hehs, the NHS officers shared reflections on the Four Pillars upon which the NHS is built:

  • Leadership – President Gieselle Nafso (‘25) emphasized, “It is our responsibility, as leaders, to set an example of excellence, to foster an environment of collaboration, to promote growth in knowledge and character, and to direct others toward Christ.”
  • Scholarship – Vice President Tara Kellow (‘25) reminded members that while they have already prioritized academic achievement, “Scholarship is going out into the world each day with an open mind and a willingness to try and make each day better than the prior.”
  • Character – Treasurer Kaitlyn Kallabat (‘25) shared, “Character is the drive within an individual that distinguishes them from others, which is a force bestowed upon us through Christ and His love for humanity.”
  • Service – Secretary Laila Nikitaides (‘25) reflected that service “brings out the virtue of humility in an individual, allowing them to give their time and efforts with no reward or recognition.”

After reciting the NHS pledge, the existing members exchanged a lit candle with a rose from the inductees, symbolizing the light of Christ and gratitude for their dedication and service.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ms. Hehs offered a few words of thanks and presented a challenge to the members and inductees — to not rest on their successes, but to strive toward higher goals, cultivating an attitude of purpose in their lives.

A special thank you to Mrs. Crapps for her leadership and inspiration as the NHS Advisor.
