Viva SCA Guests of Honor
As we continue to celebrate 15 incredible years at St. Catherine of Siena Academy, we are excited to highlight two inspiring individuals who will be honored at our Annual Benefit Gala on November 9, 2024.
Barbara Kirwan has been a guiding force at SCA since its founding. As the first theology teacher, she helped lay the spiritual groundwork of the academy, fostering the growth of our students’ faith through her passionate commitment to Catholic teachings. Barbara's role in shaping our community is evident not only in the curriculum but also in the relationships she has built with students, faculty, and families over the years. Her words of wisdom and heartfelt memories of SCA’s early days will surely inspire us all.
Terry Polakovic, a past board member and co-founder of ENDOW, has been a champion for the dignity of women and their vital role in society. Her work with ENDOW, which educates women on their God-given dignity, aligns closely with SCA’s mission to form confident young women who lead with grace and strength. Terry is also a published author, sharing her insights on faith and womanhood through her books. In Life and Love: Opening Your Heart to God’s Design, she explores Church teachings on the dignity of human life, marriage, and family, offering a profound reflection on God's loving plan. Additionally, her book Women of Hope: Doctors of the Church highlights four remarkable women—St. Hildegard of Bingen, St. Teresa of Ávila, St. Catherine of Siena, and St. Thérèse of Lisieux—who served as powerful beacons of hope in turbulent times, showing us how trust and courage can guide us through life's challenges.
Join us at this year’s Viva SCA! Gala to honor these remarkable women as they share their stories and insights that have shaped our school and community. This is an evening you won’t want to miss!
Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to November 9!
