the Bridge

for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, our annual appeal.

In honor of our patroness, St. Catherine of Siena, we named our annual giving campaign, the Bridge. In addition to tuition, we rely on the generosity and charitable giving of our friends and supporters to help us bridge the gap between the tuition revenue and the cost of educating our STARS.

The Bridge provides vital resources for initiatives such as curricular enhancements, faculty and staff development, campus improvements, technology upgrades, athletics, and fine arts, service programs, and tuition assistance. The Bridge makes up about 20% of the Annual Fund and every gift makes an immediate impact on St. Catherine students and the life of the school. This annual appeal gives donors the opportunity to direct their funds to an area that they would like to support.

the Bridge

The Bridge is a reference taken from the third Chapter in the Dialogue. In it, God enlightens Catherine (by means of analogy) that the way to salvation is Jesus Christ. He is “the Bridge” who, “stretches from heaven to earth” connecting us to the Father and his everlasting love. Using the imagery of “Jesus as the Bridge” to our salvation, we continue to teach our STARS that they must be active participants in their faith life by walking, ever forward, on that bridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions about the Annual Appeal, please email Diahann at dsproule@saintcatherineacademy.org.

How can I donate?

Donations can be made online, by mail, or in person. Online donations may be made here. If you would like to mail in a check or cash, please fill out this Annual Appeal Donation Form and mail it in with your donation to:

St. Catherine of Siena Academy
Attn. Advancement Office

Is there a minimum donation?

No! The majority of our Annual Appeal is comprised of small donations. Small donations from a large group of donors will make as much of an impact as a single large donation. Giving to the Bridge for St. Catherine Academy is not about giving a large amount but giving what you can. There is a minimum donation of $10 if you would like to make your donation online.

Can you explain The President’s Leadership Society and Gift Clubs?

No gift is too small. Even a $5 donation helps further our mission. The key to a successful annual appeal is 100% participation from parents, alumnae, and staff at St. Catherine of Siena Academy. We ask that you prayerfully consider an amount that makes SCA your philanthropic priority. A monthly donation of $125 to the Bridge helps to show your commitment and enroll you in the President’s Leadership Society, as shown below. We will recognize those who give with a special Mass and reception as well as their names listed in our annual report.

If I already pay tuition, why is more needed?

The actual cost of educating one student is over $14,000. Tuition alone does not cover operating costs including classroom needs, new curriculum, upgrading Wi-Fi, repaving the road, and purchasing state-of-the-art equipment. By donating to The Bridge, St. Catherine Academy can continue to make improvements while making a St. Catherine of Siena Academy education accessible to all.

Are gifts to the Bridge tax deductible?

Yes! St. Catherine of Siena Academy is a 501 (c) 3 organization. Our tax ID is #90-0530541.

Doesn’t the Golf Outing, Student Fundraiser, and Gala raise money for the annual fund?

Yes, these events raise money for specific needs of the school. The Student Fundraiser and a portion of the Gala revenue go towards financial assistance. The Golf outing directly benefits athletics and the upgrades that are needed to keep us competitive. St. Catherine Academy awards financial assistance based on some form of a merit or need-based scholarship. In addition to tuition, we rely on the generosity or charitable giving of our friends and supporters not only to help bridge the gap between the tuition revenue and the cost of educating our students but also to allow us to offer more young women the gift of a St. Catherine education. The Bridge adds to the unrestricted general fund of the school’s budget for use in areas of greatest need—ensuring the continuation of quality education and impacting the most students.

What if St. Catherine raises more than their goal?

Raising more than our goal would be fantastic! This would give St. Catherine flexibility to address needs as they arise both during the year and in the future.

“My family has had an excellent experience at this school so far. Beyond the beautiful new facility, I have been impressed with the teachers and the administration! They challenge the girls both academically and spiritually, they know them by name, and appear to have a genuine concern for each individual student. The school really feels like a family. As a parent, it is a blessing to me to know that my daughter is in such good hands when I drop her off everyday.”

SCA Parent

“I have been very impressed with the teachers at this school. They both challenge the girls academically and show true concern for them on a personal level as well.”

SCA Parent

“This high school builds the whole young woman intellectually, spiritually, and teaches the feminine genius approach to life. Amen!”

Chrissy

“SCA is authentically and unapologetically Catholic. It’s excellence in academics and athletics is rooted in its mission to pass on the beauty of the Catholic faith in a way that is relevant to the modern world. The result is a constant focus on the character and virtue of its students, challenging them to be the best version of themselves not just academically, but spiritually as well.”

SCA Parent

“[Teachers] care about the success of each student. They come early to help students and stay after school if necessary. They are a super dedicated faculty.”

SCA Parent

“Another thing I enjoyed about the school was the athletics. I played four different sports at this school and I had the same experience with all of them. The coaches really cared about me, not just how well I was performing and I was treated respectfully on and off the court. Further more, I felt that I was really being pushed physically and mentally during practice which I value in any activity.”

Alumna

“As a graduate of this school, I can attest to not only the strong education I received from SCA but also the strong foundation I was given in which I could build my own faith upon. I felt fully prepared for the ‘real world’ both academically and spiritually.”

MaryKatherine

“I LOVE this school. The teachers are excellent. Because the students are so friendly, it’s easy to fit in and make friends even if you have had a tough time at other schools. There is virtually no bullying and it is a very friendly, positive environment. Highly recommended.”

Alumna, Class of '17

“The community service, the focus on virtuous living, and the sisterhood really instills compassion and respect for all of humanity.”

SCA Parent

“The school lives up to their mission statement by unlocking the feminine genius in the girls who go there and providing us with the opportunity to discover who we are meant to be.”
