Gabrielle Green '18
Gabrielle Green '18 made history in 2023 as the first athlete from St. Catherine of Siena Academy to be inducted into the Catholic League Hall of Fame. This honor highlights her exceptional soccer career at both SCA and Dominican University, placing her among the elite in Catholic League sports. The Hall of Fame, established in 1978, celebrates athletes with outstanding collegiate achievements, and Gabrielle now shares this distinction with notable inductees like Detroit Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson.
During her time at SCA, Gabrielle was a dominant force on the soccer field, leading the team to several district titles and securing the 2018 Catholic League championship. Beyond soccer, she captained the basketball team for three years, earning All-Catholic and All-League honors in both sports, as well as an All-State honorable mention in soccer. Her dedication and talent were further recognized when she received the Catholic League Scholar-Athlete Award.
Gabrielle’s success continued at Dominican University, where she played a key role in leading the soccer team to multiple conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances. In 2021, her exceptional defensive play earned her the title of Defensive Player of the Year. Notably, in 2022, Gabrielle was the first player from Dominican University selected for the prestigious USA Sports D-3 soccer team. She traveled to Brazil for competition, representing one of 18 top NCAA Division III players from across the country. A standout in the classroom as well, she was on the Dean’s List all four years and graduated summa cum laude. In 2024, she completed a dual dietetic internship and MBA program at Dominican University.
Gabrielle shared these thoughtful words, "This is such an incredible humbling honor to grouped in with these athletes. I want to thank my family for their support, and sacrifice of time and money. My mom being my travel buddy for every long tournament weekend I had. My dad for spending hours with me in the gym and on the pitch practicing basketball and soccer and for always having the perfect motivational line to fit every moment. And my brother for making me tough by never taking it easy on me when playing sports in the driveway or front lawn. I want to thank my teammates I had throughout the years for making my experiences enjoyable and for making me look better than I was most the time.My coaches who supported, believed, and improved my skills here at SCA, travel team, and Dominican University."
