"I've transformed into a leader...."

“Supported by the graces of daily Mass, the enthusiasm of the faculty, and the strong sisterhood at St. Catherine’s, I’ve transformed into a leader fully aware of her dignity, gifts, and duties as a woman. Before high school, I was content with who I was. But now, I celebrate because I know I’m becoming who God made me to be.”

-Ria, 2013-2014 Executive Council President

Student Council

St. Catherine of Siena Academy’s Student Government consists of two branches: Executive Council and four Class Councils (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors).  Executive Council officers (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, Senior Historian, and Junior Historian, and Class Liaison Officers) are elected by their fellow students during a school wide election in May.  Class Council Officers are elected after Executive Council elections and consist of five class representatives.

The Executive Council is responsible for:

  • Communicating ideas between the student body and the faculty and administration
  • Coordinating extracurricular activities of all clubs and class governments
  • Promoting school spirit
  • Encouraging responsibility, leadership, honesty, and integrity in the student body.

The Class Councils are responsible for:

  • Communicating ideas and options within each class and to the Student Council via a representative
  • Sponsoring two activities per year

Here at St. Catherine, we have three dances a year. Each is preceded by a “spirit week” where the STARS have themed dress-up days, enjoy group games at lunch, and a pep rally!

“SCA proves you can educate young women to both get into Heaven and Harvard!”

You receive a spiritual hug when you walk through the door at St. Catherine of Siena Academy. Christ is at the center and He is opening up His arms saying “these are your friends, this is your family.” – Erika, SCA Alumnae

Erika

“[SCA] builds upon your faith and strengthen you academically throughout the four years in high school so that you are more than ready when you move on to college.”

Zina

“Recently attended an event at this school – very beautiful!”

Kenneth

“This place (SCA) is about the best Catholic high school you can go to, in my opinion. The whole school isn’t just a school, but a family where everybody knows everybody. It’s a small enough school for that to be possible-and it’s really awesome! What makes SCA different is the people that make up the SCA family. There are no bullies and no one is mean to you. Everybody looks out for you and your teachers become friends….This place is really close to my heart.”

Alumna, Class of '12

“SCA is authentically and unapologetically Catholic. It’s excellence in academics and athletics is rooted in its mission to pass on the beauty of the Catholic faith in a way that is relevant to the modern world. The result is a constant focus on the character and virtue of its students, challenging them to be the best version of themselves not just academically, but spiritually as well.”

SCA Parent

“Even if there were 10 stars, I would still put 11!”

Katherine

“[Teachers] care about the success of each student. They come early to help students and stay after school if necessary. They are a super dedicated faculty.”

SCA Parent

“An excellent community for families that want to stay involved!”

Leighanne

“I have been very impressed with the teachers at this school. They both challenge the girls academically and show true concern for them on a personal level as well.”
